Manchester United - After a less than convincing win against Birmingham in game week 1, followed by a shocking defeat at Turf Moor, United responded by producing a performance worthy of champions putting five past Wigan at the JJB. However, defensive problems still plague the team with the likes of Ferdinand still missing through injury, so the likes of Johnny Evans will be deputising, which he has proved to be competent in doing. With Arsenal seemingly at their free flowing best, it could be long afternoon for the young Irishman. In regards to the rest of the team, Fergie is more than likely to stick with the team that dispatched Wigan so convincingly, with Rooney and Berbatov up front. Darren Fletcher is the man to watch out for. The Scotsman has produced some wonderful displays, in particular against Arsenal in recent years, and if he is at his best and able to impose himself on the game, snapping at the feet of the likes of Fabregas, trying to break up the play and not allow the Gunners to get into a rhythm, with the home advantage it is more than likely the Champions will take three points.

Arsenal - Last season The Gunners were chasing shadows at Old Trafford for the Champions League tie, whilst the League encounter was a fairly even affair, Arsenal slightly edging it in regards to possession, with a point for United being enough for them to clinch the title. However, Arsenal will probably not go to Old Trafford on the back of better form, and with United not completely at their best, Wenger’s men will be confident of taking a massive scalp, and heaping more woe on a United team still finding their feet somewhat this season. Arsenals are likely to stick with the 4-3-3 formation which appears to be working so well for them, allowing interchange between the forwards and midfield. However, the Wigan thrashing will have reminded the Gunners, that the champions are still dangerous and at home, they are not to be taken lightly. After his omission from the Champions League tie against Celtic due to a hamstring injury which Wenger has described as ‘reassuring’, Cesc Fabregas could feature for the tie, orchestrating and pulling the strings at the heart of the Arsenal midfield. Even if not 100% fit, it is doubtful that Wenger will remain with the young Aaron Ramsey, although the Welshman has proved that he is more than adequate cover for the Spaniard. Watch out for Andreiy Arshavin too! The hype around the Russian has not yet been met, with a fairly quiet first few games. Against Portsmouth on Saturday he was seen looking lethargic, often slowing down the play, almost disinterested by the opponents presented before him. If any fixture could motivate a player to truly shine or any stage set to mark your season, it is this.

Tale of the game: Arsenal have made a flying start to the season, scoring 10 goals in their opening two victories.

The Gunners are hoping to repeat their fantastic start to the 2004/5 season where they began with five consecutive victories. United are notoriously slow starters and tasted victory just once in their first three league games last season before going on to take the top prize.

Manchester United: (probable, 4-4-2): Foster, O'Shea, Evans, Vidic, Evra; Valencia, Fletcher, Carrick, Park; Rooney, Berbatov
Arsenal: (probable, 4-3-3): Almunia, Sagna, Vermaelen, Gallas, Clichy; Diaby, Fàbregas, Song; Van Persie, Bendtner, Arshavin.
Referee: Mike Dean 5 yellow, 0 red Last season: Manchester United 0-0 Arsenal, Arsenal 2-1 Manchester United.

Liverpool have won their last five league meetings with Bolton.

Steven Gerrard has scored six Premier League goals against the Trotters only Aston Villa have been on the receiving end more often.

Bolton have lost both of their league games this season by a 1-0 scoreline.

The Trotters have failed to score in six of their last eight Premier League games and netted only one in each of the other two.

In fact, there has been a paltry total of just eight goals scored in the last eight Premier League matches involving Bolton Wanderers.

Bolton are the only team not to have scored this season.

Liverpool have not lost two Premier League games in a row since December 2007

Kevin Davies has hit seven shots this season but none of them have been on target.

Matt Taylor is averaging 12.5 crosses per game this season, the highest rate in the division.

“We all need to show a bit of patience. We went through many of these problems last season and the season before, and I’m still of the opinion that this current squad has improved.

“It’s just going to take time for the new signings to fit in and we have to give them that time.”

Megson himself told the Bolton News: "The circumstances we find ourselves in at the moment aren't healthy, but that's what we have got to cope with.

"I have said to the players that we are going to have to circle the wagons again. There are a lot of clubs that have started this season with no points from the first couple of games.

"We've got a really tough one next up against Liverpool in the Premier League, so we have to stick together as best we can. There is no problem.”

Tale of the game: Bolton have yet to hit the back of the net in the Premier League following single-goal defeats against Sunderland and Hull.

The Trotters will hope to take advantage of Liverpool's slow start to the season but have beaten the Reds just once in their last nine attempts.

Bolton boss Gary Megson has lost all five of his encounters against Rafael Benítez with his team managing just one goal while conceding 15.

Liverpool have made their worst start to a Premier League season under the Spaniard after losing two of their opening three matches – the same number of games they lost in the whole of last term

Bolton Wanderers: (probable, 4-4-2): Jaaskelainen, Robinson, Cahill, Knight, Ricketts; Davis, M. Davies, Muamba, Taylor; Elmander, K. Davies
Liverpool: (probable, 4-2-3-1): Reina, Johnson, Carragher, Skrtel, Insua; Mascherano, Lucas; Kuyt, Gerrard, Benayoun; Torres.
Referee: Alan Wiley 8 yellow, 0 red.

Last season: Liverpool 3-0 Bolton, Bolton 0-2 Liverpool

Stat of the game: Fernando Torres has scored just two goals in his past 10 Premier League appearances away from Anfield.

Betting odds: Home win 6/1 Away win 8/15 Draw 11/4

Wins over Liverpool, Hull City and West Ham United have given Tottenham Hotspur their best start to a league season for 49 years and there’s a strong belief among the Spurs fans that this could be the season they finally break into the top four.

Harry Redknapp has worked his magic at White Hart Lane since he arrived just 10 months ago, turning Spurs from a relegation-threatened club to one that is currently sitting pretty on top of the Premier League. But what exactly has he done to improve performances on the pitch and how far can he take Spurs this season?

I’ve spoken to several Spurs fans regarding their impressive start and while they are not getting too carried away with their early form they firmly believe that Spurs can be in and amongst the honours come May.

Graeme Clark is a life-long Spurs fan and he believes Redknapp deserves all the credit for the club’s fantastic start.

“Redknapp seems to be an expert at man-management and motivation and I think that is perhaps more important in football than ever before. The Spurs players at his disposal now are not that much different from those at the beginning of last season, but he has got them working together as a team rather than a group of highly paid individuals, and working for each other and in a highly motivated manner.”

And fellow Tottenham fan Terry Betts claims Harry has assembled a top class team at White Hart Lane.

“Harry has reorganized the entire team. His first choice defence could play in any top team. He’s added some steel and skill into midfield and got himself four very good strikers. He is also bringing in players with top flight experience and ability.”

A view shared by 24-year-old Liam Dennis.

“I think Harry has made some good signings. In Palacios we got our midfield hardman, in Defoe a proven goalscorer and in Keane a natural leader. Harry obviously has a knack of getting the best from his players too. Assou-Ekotto, Modric and Lennon have all improved drastically under Harry.”

However, despite sitting at the top of the table not everyone is happy with the gaffer.

“When Harry keeps his mind on the game and spends time with the players the team does well,” says 65-year-old Peter Ruse. “But when Harry spends time chasing new purchases, as he did in January, we lost games. He has got a bad streak when he runs down players such as Bentley and Bent. Also, he cannot seem to see outside players he has worked with in the past. Crouch I believe is a bad move and we would have been better keeping Bent or putting the money towards the new stadium and using some of the younger players.”

Tale of the game: The last time Spurs won their opening three games of the season they went on to win the title and FA Cup. That was nearly 50 years ago and current manager Harry Redknapp is not getting carried away just yet.

Tottenham have an impressive home record under Redknapp and have not lost at White Hart Lane since Everton stole the points last November.

Birmingham have yet to score a goal from open play in the Premier League this season but will have fond memories of their last trip to Spurs. On that occasion, the Blues triumphed 3-2 in December 2007.

Tottenham Hotspur: (probable, 4-4-2): Cudicini, Corluka, King, Bassong, Assou-Ekotto; Lennon, Palacios, Huddlestone, Modric; Keane Defoe
Birmingham City: (probable, 4-4-2): Hart, Carr, Johnson, Queudrue, Parnaby; Bowyer, Ferguson, Fahey, McFadden; O'Connor, Phillips.
Referee: Mike Jones 8 yellow, 0 red.

Last season: N/A

Stat of the game: Robbie Keane loves playing against Birmingham having scored five times in his last six outings for Spurs against the Blues.

Betting odds: Home win 1/3 Away win 9/1 Draw 18/5

This game catches our eye as it brings together Chelsea, which received our ante-post vote to be Premier League champions this season & Burnley who impressed greatly last season, including winning a cup-tie against Chelsea & already this season with their win against Manchester United.

Chelsea have the look of a club & team who mean serious business & for us they have already marked themselves down as the clear title favourites with their excellent performances & as Carlo Ancelotti settles in more, we expect Chelsea to keep improving as the season progresses.

Chelsea are so strong in every department of the team & the experience within the squad, but Burnley have already proved they can win against big opposition and against the odds.

Owen Coyle is a young, progressive manager who has built a great team spirit at Burnley & while they have not so called superstars, they have a group of players willing to give everything for the club & that suits their high energy, all commitment style of play.

We expect this to be a decent game because Owen Coyle will want his Burnley players to have a real go at Chelsea & in our minds that should give Chelsea plenty of opportunities to display their true class & quality which should prove way too strong for Burnley on the day & Chelsea to win this looks the only sensible call.

Burnley have made an incredible start to their first Premier League season in 33 years, already heaving Manchester United and Everton into off-track ditches. However Carlo Ancelotti seems to have made intrinsic notes after the Blues’ opening game against Hull. He appears to have cracked the Da Vinci code through a so-far almost faultless approach. Having struggled to break through a well organised and disciplined Hull City 4-5-1, Ancelotti has introduced a Christmas tree formation in order to combat this. The 4-3-2-1 places emphasis on the midfield two, and gives them free roles behind the lone striker making them near enough impossible to mark. It draws the opposition’s holding midfielder to one side of the pitch allowing space for players such as Frank Lampard and Deco to fully influence the game.

The formation is coming into its own for both the players and manager alike. After hesitant starts to the first few games, the players clearly demonstrated some unease in their new assigned roles. However all was put to rest against their London rivals on Sunday as, for the first time this season, Chelsea managed to both score first and not concede. In all honesty this never looked in doubt as each player in blue stepped up to the top of their game - free flowing football and aspects of intrusive interplay destructed a poor Fulham show. The formation applies huge pressure on both Ashley Cole and Jose Bosingwa as both are required to offer natural width as well as defensive solidarity. Cole is more than capable of achieving this - his resilient engine has never failed to disappoint. The England left-back has been attacking the left-hand side for the last decade, making himself a consistent first team performer for both club and country.

So there's no getting around the fact that, when you publish a preview on the 2009-10 English Premier League season after most of the league's 20 teams have already played three matches apiece, you're a little late to the game.

But as many Liverpool supporters would do well to realize about now, there's still a long, long, long way to go.

Indeed, 35 of the 38 fixtures are yet to be played over a grueling 10-month season, and, in truth, the story of this campaign hasn't even really started to unfold yet.

I am here, however, to tell you what I think is going to happen.

Before we dive into my predictions, let me offer this disclaimer

Harry Redknapp's resurgent team lead the English Premier League with three wins from three games and made no mistake in the second round of a competition in which they have reached the final for the past two seasons.

Two early goals inside 11 minutes from midfielders Tom Huddlestone and Jamie O'Hara effectively ended the match as a contest despite Tottenham resting several key players ahead of Saturday's home Premier League match against Birmingham.

England striker Peter Crouch, making his first start since his move from Portsmouth, added a third and his first for the London club as he headed home David Bentley's corner just after the half hour mark.
