Sportingbet have teamed up with the Southampton legend Matt Le Tissier for the new football season as they seek to give their punters the best gossip, tips and previews from the world of football. Matt also works as a pundit on Sky TV's hugely popular Soccer Saturday and the footballing star gives us his predictions for the new season.
Hello Matt, how are you? Great thanks.
What have you been up to up to in the close season? Go anywhere nice on your holidays? I played a bit of golf down at La Manga, and then I took the wife and our five-month old daughter to the Algarve.

And we also believe you have a book coming out? I do. I've got my autobiography [Taking Le Tiss, published by HarperSport] coming out on the 20th of August.
Lovely stuff. You're going head-to-head with Guardian readers on our new Pick the score game this season. Do you think you'll be top dog? [Laughs] It's obviously a very tricky game predicting scores. [Working on Sky Sports Soccer Saturday] I have slightly more insight into the teams, but there's still no easy way of predicting games. It's a tough old game and I'm prepared to give it my best.

Are you looking forward to the new season? It's gonna be absolutely fascinating. There's been a lot of movement in the transfer market certainly by Man City, but I think with United losing Tevez and Ronaldo, there are a lot of goals they've got to make up for.
Where can Man Utd replace those goals? I'd expect Rooney to probably play down the middle a bit more this season. I think when he is played down the middle he's a much bigger goal threat. I expect they'll be looking towards Berbatov to have a bit of a better season than he did last year and obviously they'll be looking for Michael Owen to chip in depending on how many games he plays. I think if he keeps himself fit he'll probably play a fair chunk and it wouldn't surprise me to see him on the score sheet on a regular basis.
